Anyone else a fan of Wong Kar-wai?
Brilliant director from Hong Kong. With cinematographer Christopher Doyle, he has established a unique visual style--dreamy, nocturnal, punctuated with vivid colors and the blending of slow and fast motion. And his films, in my opinion, have such a deep, soulful quality. Whether it's the pop hyperactivity of Chungking Express or the leisurely repressed anguish of In the Mood for Love, Wong explores unrequited love and the passing of time with real grace and sensitivity. All in all, one of the best living auteurs. Anyone else a fan? -- Bonus Q: Favorite of his films? -- Bonus Q2: Favorite Tony Leung performance in a Wong Kar-wai film?
