Why is religion the most controversy?

Religion is very close to people's heart so people have very strong feelings about it. It's not just philsophical views, when you attack religion you're also attacking people's culture, behaviour and many other aspects of people's lives. Along with politics and sex it is the one of the big three most controversial subjects.
