Doe nicotine patches in anyway cause lucid dreaming?

Ive tried quitting smoking n found it real hard. Then gave in and started again, bein bord of having to fork out money time n time gain i decided to try nicotine patches. i still woke up craving a cigerette so i sleep wih them on now, since then im getting crazy dreams which i can seem to control o a certain extent butnot fully. Also im strugging to get to sleep in the first place. Any ideas? thanks Oh also woud doctors prescribe me wit sleeping tablets if i asked to get my self into a routine again since nicotine patches seem to have nakerd my sleeping patterns up. thans
